Culture & Philosophy

At The Movement Park, we believe that parkour is more than just physical movement—it is a way of thinking, learning, and showing up in the world.

Our mission is to foster a life-long, positive relationship with movement through the spirit of parkour. When participants, families, and staff align around these values, we create experiences that are challenging, joyful, and meaningful.

By participating in classes, programs, or activities at The Movement Park, you acknowledge and agree to the following principles and expectations:

Our Movement Culture

We train with three-fold awareness at all times: Awareness of self, awareness of others, and awareness of the environment.

Participants are expected to move with intention, respect shared space, and make choices that support both personal safety, and the safety of those around them.

Positive Coaching & Student Autonomy

Coaching at The Movement Park emphasizes:

  • Encouragement over pressure,

  • Skill development through progressive challenges, and

  • Learning through exploration, play, and problem-solving.

Students are supported in developing confidence, autonomy, and self-efficacy—learning how to assess risk, make thoughtful choices, and discover their own unique movement paths. Growth may look different for each participant, and comparison is neither expected nor encouraged.

Effort, Responsibility, & Community

A positive movement experience requires effort, focus, and mutual respect. Participants are expected to:

  • Show up ready to engage and learn,

  • Listen to and follow coach instructions,

  • Treat coaches, staff, fellow students, and the facility with respect, and

  • Support a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.

How each participant shows up affects the experience of all. We are a community and shared responsibility matters.
